You know, I was so looking forward to the Betty Crocker Cookie Mix House Party. I was excited to be one of the hosts. I planned and invited, prepared and waited...then, all my plans seemed to get changed...but that isnt bad. First, the theme was somewhat changed and a few different themes combined. The party ended up being a cookie exchange, cookie create, and kids cookie decorating party. Despite the seeming chaos that one might think would happen with such a diverse party, it was a blast. The only thing disappointing was that my camera died on me, so I got no pictures of the event, but with or without photos, we all have some great memories, so thank you Betty Crocker and House Party for giving us this great opportunity.

My party turned into a "Cookie Exchange" also, but with a twist. I bought 10 additional packages of mix and my best friend added 10 more. We baked and baked and created and created. We had a great time and developed some real wonderful treats and a couple of not so pretty ones - everything can't go as planned.
The pictures may come - while taking the trash out after the party I slipped on ice and broke my right ankle. Surgery and all has put my entire holiday plans in a dither. But there are still wonderful memories.

I understand what you mean. I invited 20 people and only one showed up besides me and my daughter. Things just came up one at a time for everyone and they cancelled. My sister and my daughter had a great time though and we spent the afternoon baking and eating. I do want to say I from now on am going to start buying the Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix. I usually make that from scratch but they never turn out the way I like them to. The mix is great tasting and the cookies stay really soft just they way my family likes it. My husband never liked mine but ate all the leftover cookies this time. He also especially like the chocolate chip cookies. We got a recipe from Betty Crocker.com for the sugar cookies and made candy canes and used red and white ones and green and white ones, we also did cutouts, and balls. They turned out really awesome! The stores I went to didn't have much a selection for the mixes so all I had were the two I mentioned above and the peanut butter cookies which were also good. I am looking forward to buying more mixes and trying out more recipes. I decided to give out little goodie bags for christmas with the items we had left over from the party. I will be adding a mix with each one so they can try it themselves. I think those will be a hit. Thank you so much for letting me host a party and I hope to be chosen again in the future!
