I received my seeds and coupons today and I have to agree with norwitch, The seed packets are very cute. I bought red reusable shopping totes at target and downloaded the party favors for my guest. The rest is easy, just enjoy the day with family and friends.

I totally agree with you Devon. We cancelled our party also, I feel scammed by clorox and I am not even sure i will ever buy thier products again. Most of my friends think this was a joke also. As I have said on many of the other blogs, they could have sent coupons for thier product, at least my store does double coupon day, but not even that. Everyone has always enjoyed our house parties, this one they couldn't even belive what has happened. I think saying/using usps was a copout also, this was as cheap as I have ever seen with house party. Probably using the shipping as a scape goat for most of us not getting anything at all. This will truely affect the trust most have with house party in the future, I would imagine.

I didn't get my package either and I decided to write to Chlorox company and mildy chastised them for asking us, as consumers, to give them free promotion for their product at our expense. I am really disappointed in in Chlorox, a brand that my family has used for decades ,for asking us as consumers to pay out of own pocket to advertise their products. Free PR for them at my expense? I am still having my virtual party, it has already been planned and paid for, but in no way will I be mentioning the product that I am to feature. I actually found another well known brand and cheaper product that offers the same results. I am really disappointed in how we as consumers are being treated by this company with concerns with this form of free advertisment for them. I feel as if they are taking advantage of as consumers by asking us to pay for the free advertisement of their products for them.

Well, our mail has come and gone and still no host pack. I am so upset, because my friends and family are upset for the lack of sponsor participation, knowing that I had to stay up one night until 2 am making soy candles and soaps so I would at least have something to provide my guests with and now no host pack at all? I don't know what to do, I know the party is for a great cause, but everyone wants to cancel to boycott this, because they know the efforts and money I put into my parties they are really really upset! They all say it is nothing against us and they always love our parties and BBQs, but they truly feel if they attend it would be wrong to have me go through all this for these sponsors since it appears that being chosen for this one was merely a ploy to get me to purchase the sponsors products and never to "host" a party on the sponsors behalf, which now after no host pack at all I do kind of feel that way. Honestly I do not mean to sound ungrateful, because I love hosting these, but what am I to do at this point?

Still have not got my seeds and coupons. I am still having my party but looks like I am having it without the help of HP. I have spent quite a bit of money on this party but kind of feel let down by HP on their end. I am very glad to have been prompted to have this type of party because of its nature and how strongly I feel about our enviroment, so all is not lost, but I do feel like I agreed to spend lots of money to help promote products that not only do not want me to try their product first but are also not honoring their end of the of the HP. This is only my second HP so I don't know if this is unusual for HP to have these problems.

Yay, the seeds & coupons finally arrived. People are not very interested in the coupons, but we are going to do some fun activities with the kids. We will have the kids plant the seeds in the pots -- just brought them last night =). I also brought some kid's t-shirts for them to design their own go-green drawings on them using fabric paint. The moms are going to each bring a tip that we can all share with the kids on how to go green in our own daily lives.

Still no host pack for us as of today, oh well. I am still having our party, because it is for a great reason and it is always fun to get together. So I stayed up late last night and made a batch of soy candles and some small handmade soaps. I have thought about loading the tips and recipes on to cd's instead of printing them, so it won't waste paper and then the guests can easily refer to them as they like. So it still should be a great party and we are having it in the sunroom and everyone we know loves the sunroom. I too had 5 people that chose to cancle after they had logged on and read some of the comments that had been left about this party, it is their way of boycotting the sponsors so to speak. Oh, well nothing I can do about that they are entitled to their feelings and some made some valid points. I am just happy to be a part of House Party, sure this won't be the best one I have had as far as a host pack stuff to hand out, but hopefully with the things I made and for such a great cause some of them will change their mind and attend anyway.
I wish you all a wonderful party and take care,
E

Well, with only a few days left before the party, I only have 6 confirmed guests! I invited 47!! :( Many people can't come due to other obligations and I'm bummed. We're still having the party and I'm going to have fun with it. Maybe I'll ask each person to "pass it on" by giving a set of the materials to someone interested in going green. I bought a few things today to enhance my party pack--I'm raffling off the items. We'll see how it goes. I'm disappointed more people can't come though. :(

I'm still having my party but when I had to go purchase the product that I was supposed to be featuring I ended up finding a known name green product that I like better that I will feature at my party instead. It didn't occur to me before but then I started thinking about how Chlorox wants us to use our own money and time to promote their product when they really should be sending us the product to test if they want us to give them free advertisement for it. So my party is still on I am just having a green party to feature a different product that I found while looking for the Chlorox brand. I am not disappointed at all, through this house party I found a new green product that I really like and I have read some great green ideas here.

I got my package today. Everything looked good. I really wasn't expecting too much anyway. I'm incorporating my playdate with the mommies into this party and the theme is going to be...A Greener Planet for our Children.

OMG, I just got the Living Green package. Er, envelope. Small unpadded envelope. 15 tiny pieces of paper with seeds embedded in them. And 15 coupons good for $5 off a complete Brita system (not just the filters). That's it. Entirely. No paper goods, no decorations, no real seed packets, no coupons of any particular value, nothing.
Seriously, pitiful.

No party package here, either! Well...we are planning to have the party and I know it'll still be fun. We're planning to do an organic spa party...with banana-honey-oat facials and making avocado-sea salt scrub. I also got everyone organic cotton socks to go with their flower seeds and coupons and may get water bottles to put it all in. I am the "coupon queen" in my circle, though, so does anyone know...can it at LEAST be doubled?????? (And can Margaritas be considered"green"!!!!!!!)

My four year olds Head Start class is learning about the environment this week. I thought what better way to learn about the environment but through their parents. I invited all the parents from the Head Start class to come to the pary. I am going to give them the seeds and coupons in a recycable bag with some other odd and ends in it. I am decorating my house with green decorations. I also have green cups and plates. I told them to wear green to the party so I am hoping that goes off good.

I have only done one other house party, and I was told the party pack for that one was smaller than usual. At least that one I got over a week ahead of time. It seems from their message to you Krecee that they may be reading our blogs and realize that some people aren't having a normal party for this one! Oh well! My party will go on either way. I am actually pleasantly surprised how many green ideas and products you can find once you start looking. I guess this party did make a difference for me with or without the goodies, and hopefully will for my guests.

No party package for me yet either. I emailed HP and was told that "Thank you for your email. We would like to inform you that these packs have been sent out using First Class Mail and were mailed in groups starting Friday and ending Monday morning. For this reason we do not and will not be able to obtain any tracking information on the packs. You should receive your pack within in 2-3 days of the day it was shipped which means you should receive it by no later than Thursday. We understand your frustration and we appreciate any level of participation in this event and the theme it promotes, and hope that you might make a difference on whatever level you feel comfortable" what does that mean? lol

I have not received the "seed " package either. I have been a big supporter of House Party, and have gotten to host several parties. The "host" package for those parties were great, and several of my guests signed up at HP as a result. This party has not gone as well as the others, hopefully this is only a "blip on the screen" and future parties will be like the first ones. I think this is an excellent way to promote new products, and I have no problem spending my own $$$ on extras, but I want the party to be worthwhile for my guests and myself-I'm not sure "the green party" will be.

I didn't get my pack yet either, and feel bad for everyone that hasn't. I at least have another party that day(I combined a party for my daughter with the Living Green party) so at least my guests will have something to come for. I found a going green handbook in my son's NIck Jr. magazine, so will give out copies of that, too.

I had 19 people coming. Most live at least 100 miles away. No sense in them wasting gas for a paper flower with seeds in it. I feel bad about this cause they all made the plans to come to this. I could just turn this into a girls day and we could do facials and stuff. All made from fruits and veggies. You know what I am gonna do that.
