I went ahead and hosted a party today, but it cost me a lot! I will never do a Better Homes and Gardens party again.

I refuse to host a party for a few seeds. I am not going to spend $150 plus on food and drinks to promote a product I had to buy. Soory Clorox and House Party!
I think House Party needs to make this up to us!

Um, I hate to be greedy, but are we just getting these coupons and flower dooda things? Isn't there supposed to be other stuff??? How am I supposed to have a party (that I've already rescheduled to this weekend because of the delay of the delivery) with just this???? I'll just change the theme and throw the flowers and coupons into some sort of goody bag for my guests. I'm gonna have to get my creative juices flowing, but I thought that part was gonna be done for me on this party...I'm so disappointed with HouseParty and will be telling my friends who are all members about my experience. HP should know that word of mouth is what it's all about, man. To not even respond...sheesh!

My package hasn't come yet (still). I was able to contact everyone and tell them we had to postpone. When (If?) it ever comes, I hope it will fit into people's schedule and we can do it. This was to be my first House Party so I'm really not sure what to think or if it will come. I hope I get into another House Party and have a chance to do this right!

I was a bit disappointed at not receiving seeds or coupons (or anything other than the online party ideas/favors); this was my first House Party event and I didn't know what to expect. When I emailed HP asking if I should postpone the party, I was assured that the seeds would arrive in time. They didn't. But I managed. I went to the local dollar store and bought packages of seeds for my guests - and they were tickled to get them. We had snacks, almost everyone wore green as requested, some of us learned something new by playing the trivia game, we discussed various green ideas (saving water, electricity, fuel, etc.). All in all, we had a good time and nobody was really disappointed since they weren't expecting anything anyway. However, I have to admit, I will be a bit more cautious if ever selected for another party - certainly don't want to end up in the same boat as a lot of people who promised their guests something that couldn't be delivered. Hopefully this was just a one-time incident.

My guests liked the trivia game as well. I thought it was kind interesting to see who knew what! It woulda been cool to have more info on the qs though. I kept getting asked questions like why cant you recycle a vase and what is so good about lemon grass?! I dont know! I just printed it out and tock it as true! Anyway it was great info and surprising answers! Hope you all had fun and that your seeds come soon if there not here already!

My guests found the trivia game interesting. My niece wanted an extra copy to carry to her class at school.

Well, I couldn't get ahold of everyone to cancel the party, so we had a wii party and cookout. Everyone was dissapointed that it wasn't a go green party, we talked about natural ways to work in the garden/yard. recycling and such, but everyone is very upset about the sponsors lack of participation with this one. All in all it was a good day, but a lot of money was lost on this green works party. I hope to do another house party and hopefully this is just a one time incident. Hope everyone had a great time that did recieve something to work with.

I am truly disappointed in this one. I haven't received a thing and I was one of the 1st 1,000 according to HP and yet I read that a few responded after I did and received the full package.
I would re-schedule the Green Party if I had all the goods to share with my friends. This one was really poorly handled.

Have the decorations up! All the food is made! The guests will be here soon. We're trading seedlings and making pumpkins. I'm going to show them the Green Works I received and demonstrate (I bet they'll all want to try and I'll have a super clean house!) Everyone is bring guests! I found a brita pitcher with a neat naglene bottle attached to it, $10 after the coupon. This has filtered my water! Awesome for my guests! I have the lightbulb plugged in and actually bought a few more.
We're giving away gifts and one of them is a Brita Filter for your sink. I've also made up goodie bags that include lights for everyone, a green nalgene bottle (like the ones they sent me) as well as a Green Works cleaning supply.
My new outfit arrived just in time (yesterday) and I'll be dressing in a cute green dress.
This should be a lot of fun. It's great hanging out with friends and family and now we have some cool stuff to try out! (Not to metion a bunch of food).
How is everyone elses going?

I'm sorry, but I can't get excited about a party I promised to promote and then come to find it will be at my own expense. I can talk green and share green ideas without being out of pocket and doing free PR for clorox. I think some people don't understand what this actually is. Brita coupons have nothing to do with the clorox green products. I have plenty of flower seeds and I bet dollars to donuts those seeds won't grow. I spend a lot of money to do these parties, it wouldn't have hurt them to send coupons for the product. We won't be doing free PR for clorox. 4000 people are supposed to get flower seeds and brita coupons, am I the only one that finds that unreasonable ? It's a profit party for clorox if everyone buys it, and I am not going to do that. Not to mention, we didn't even get the seeds or coupons, so now I am out of pocket 175.00 in food, activity items and party favors. Not to mention I have to spend the day tomorrow getting ahold of people who made plans for this also, and tell them the party is off.

no pkg here either, and quite frankly, I am not spending money on the product when I spent so much on everything else. They could send coupons for the product, not brita, I mean really. I'll just save what I got for this party, and hopefully I qualify for another and actually do something everyone will enjoy. I can call my friends for this one, not waste thier time and gas for nothing. Just my point of view.

The parents of my childcare will be coming to the party so Living Green has become the theme of the week in preschool. We are making mud balls with wildflower seeds in them. They will throw them in the garden or field to sprout by spring.
While not what I had thought it would be it is turning into a good experience after changing it to children and parents.

Does anyone know if any other parties were cheap like this or does everyone get the good package for other parties? I'm just curious

You know what, I know a lot of you are getting upset because the party package isn't what you wanted, but be thankful you are getting something and the package isn't costing you something. Big deal! I'm getting the seed and coupons, but I'm not going to let that damper the party. For a living green party you really don't need much. Provide a little food or make it a pot luck. Remind people that doing something green as reusing the plastic bags from the grocery store is a great step in the process and it's thrifty. Turning of the faucet when you brush your teeth saves so much water. Little things always add up. For my party I went and bought cheap dollar reusable bags at the grocery store and a few things that are small to go in. And I know that the people I invited will appreciate coupons and use them. Anything to save a little can add up to something big.

So if some of are getting a bigger package and some of us a smaller one, how do we know if we were one of the first 1000 to get a bigger package or not? They should have made that more clear.

I haven't gotten mine yet either. I emailed HP and they never replied. A friend of mine hasn't gotten hers either. I hope it gets here soon so I have a better idea of what I have to work with. Sometimes there are little surprises that we didn't know in there! I love having parties! It's great having friends over to do these!

I am hosting a potluck party. Each guest has been asked to bring a dish and we will be providing the meats. We wll be planting the seeds and the guests will take them home. Also I will be sending home some fresh picked green things from my organic garden with each guest. I plan on trivia games and activities for adults to lean about wiping out our carbon footprints.
No paper decorations or favors so less abuse of the environment. Cleanup will be with all green products.
