My digital camera decided to die right before the party, lol so I can only describe I did get a few pictures of people but not of decor. I decorated in recylcled products we had a green vase of flowers on the table and placed the get green information around this. I made up little packs with seeds, coupons etc. and each guest received them. We did a test of cleaning green and discussed using recylced bags instead of paper and plastic when shopping. The benefits of changing our life styles.

I just received the coupons and the seeds which were after the party. That didn't really make a difference since I use the houseparty party favors that I can download for cleaning and decor tips!! I love the snack mix recipe! I will hand out the coupons and seeds to friends and family who attended and am sure they will enjoy them.

I just received the coupons and the seeds....after the party. sigh. This as a big BIG let down. From what I read, I'm not the only one who was disappointed. I didn't receive a box, just seeds (it is fall and we can't plant them here now) and $5.00 of Brita. needless to say, I'm not thrilled. I'll give the seeds out to friends tomorrow, perhaps they will get planted in the spring.

I got my seed cards today....I ended up postponing the party. Now I will just share the items I received (coupons and seed cards) with my friends during our next mom's group meeting in November. We're ending up having a garage sale that day where everyone brings in their household items to swap or trade amongst the group. How much greener can you get, instead of buying new...it's a good way to recycle?!

I'm going to check with Starbuck's about the composting - thanks for the hint!

My green decorations were old photos of me gardening. I didn't have to go out and buy streamers I'd only use once : )

I made some rolled sandwiches. One with cream cheese, turkey, cucumbers, and sprouts. The other was vegetarian with grilled eggplant, zucchini, mushrooms, and onions. Those went quick! Also some multi colored pasta salad, spinach dip, veggie sticks, and green salad. We had wine(or sprit) sangria spritzers to drink and for dessert a butter pecan and triple chocolate cake that I frosted blue and with green made the Reduce Reuse Recycle arrows(well thats what they were supposed to be anyway!)

I used the Green Works products to spruce up my house before the party. For the party, the food was tinted green - green cake, green punch, green Apple Jacks Treats (instead of Krispie Treats). Even the napkins had a green design on them. In addition to the coupons, magazines, and seeds, the guests also took home bags of Starbucks coffee grounds to use with their plantings.

I am using bamboo and green plants to decorate with. I have prepared goody bags from recycled brown bags and have enclosed some healthy snacks and other items in the bags. I will be serving a carrot cake cheese ball, spiced nuts, cider, fruit and raw vegetables, pinwheel sandwiches and some other snacks.

I will be having my party TOMORROW due to something that came up making it hard for me to have the party today on the 4th, but I was able to plan this party for Sunday instead, so it didn't end up messing anything up. I can't wait. I did get the "big package." My only sad part is that I invited 20 people and only 4 of them RSVP'ed due to the fact that we live on an Army base and unfortunately, the base has a Fall Festival going on that I didn't find out about until my party was already planned. :( So, most of my invited people have decided to go to that instead...PLUS, we have had several units to deploy over the past couple of days and another one that is deploying tomorrow, so yes, you guessed it...the ones who didn't go to the Fall Festival, have husbands leaving out, so unfortunately, my party will be small; however, we will have fun. I will take pics. and vids. and post them soon.

I had my Living Green House Party tonight and it was a blast. We served healthy snacks, played a few games and planted our seeds. The guests really enjoyed themselves and so did I! Thanks House Party!

Well, I waited and nothing came. I was actually really excited about this one. It would have been my first adult party so to speak. I have done the ben10 , and cartoon network sort of parties, but nothing that was really focused on a grown up type of group. We always put a lot of time and energy into our parties and I am so dissapointed with this one. I will still apply, and I do so hope that HP is reading these posts. I emailed them to let them know nothing came, but never heard a word back. I think that is most frustrating. They don't seem to care. I spent a LOT of money on this one already and will be darned if I am going to buy the product. I just discussed this with my husband and he agrees. I do feel it was a scam by the sponsor, not HP. However if HP knew it was going to be like this they should have only accepted those that had a product to work with. Not to mention, this is the time of year you cut all your plants and such back. We cannot plant seeds this time of year where I live. I do hope I qualify for another party in the future and that it is more organized than this one. I do hope this is not a sign of how future parties are going to be done. Those of you who recieved a party pkg. hope your party is great. We will be sitting here with nothing to do this Saturday, which ticks me off. we could have made other plans for the weekend and gone out rather than spend 175.00 on a party we won't be having. As for thinking HP did not drop the ball, I disagree. This is thier partysite, it isn't like we are given a way to contact the sponsor. It is house party who in the end is responsible for making sure these parties are done properly. Let us know before applying that we may need to buy the sponsors product and give me the option on wether or not I choose to buy the product. This is thier site after all. I still think we should have at least been given coupons for a bottle of cleaner, not to mention had I even gotten the pkg. Those seeds would sit for months before they could even be planted, it is fall after all, who plants flowers in the fall ? If you think about it, Hp was scammed also. HP knows we all expect a little more than this to do a party. I hope they screen thier sponsors a little better from now on. In this economy, doing a party for some is not always affordable and getting these pkgs are very helpful. The companies should be grateful for programs like this that gives them a large amount of free pr. I don't think any of us are being ungrateful, I think we just feel taken advantage of is all.

i cancelled my party, i never got the seeds, nothing, i had upset people, yes i bought stuff for the bags that i was making, but for HP not to come thru, send the "4000" people just some seeds was hard enough to accept, but not to send them in time, why not send the same way as the big kits? my last house party was great, but this one is bad, and for all the people saying" you should not whine and be happy for what you get" guess what, i got nothing... but a headach from this house party

Even though I got the 'bigger' pack it really wasn't that much so I dug into my pockets and bought some 'green' grocery bags, a bottle of various 'green' cleaning products for each guest-not just green works but other makers as well, some recycled paper toilet paper (put a roll in each bag) and a few of those six packs of plants/flowers. I have a bunch of kids coming over so I'm cutting water bottle in half and letting the kids make planters out of them to take home. I also made some magnets out of baby food jar lids, a bracelet out of a water bottle and felt and I took a bunch of plastic bags and crocheted them into a much sturdier bag. I intend to give these re-purposed items out as gifts. You can see pics on my page.

Sorry to hear that, I wish that everyone would have gotten one. I did and received it a week or so ago. I got the green works cleanser and I love it. I wasnt super optimistic about the cleaner but it worked great and smelled so much better than the products im used to using.

Well, I am sorely unhappy with this HP. I will be spending my day tomorrow cancelling this party, which is a hassle being I have over 30 guests to notify. I cannot believe they only sent out 1000 real pkgs and expect 4000 people to purchase the product. If you are going to send coupons, send them for the product you are promoting, at least my store has double coupon days and I could have saved money. I refuse to buy the product and give clorox free pr on this one. Sorry folks, but this is a principle issue for me. I will go green by not having all these people drive from all over the area for nothing. I spend more than what these pkgs are ever worth and I don't mind, being we always have a great time. That being said, we also have the product in the pkg. Meet us half way here, this is so off the mark it isn't funny. Maybe we will have a go green and boycot clorox party instead, I'll have to decide. There are other products to promote out there. Oh, and no, we did not even recieve the seeds or brita coupons. HP failed on this one bigtime for a lot of people.

Most of my decorations are going to be from nature, or recycled. I have collected pine cones, spikey monkey balls and colored leaves for the tables. Candles that I already have as well as other things from around the house.

For a project, we are planting the seeds into empty yogurt containers for starters and then when they grow we will transplant into something larger.

I posted pics of what the seed card and brita coupon look like. The seed card is actually a really cute idea, the seeds are in a flower shape and you just plant the entire flower shape into the ground. Even easy enough for my 2yr old grandson to do.
