Everyone is bringing their recipe. I had them send me the recipes ahead of time, and I bound it all together in a little book. Now everyone will have the recipes to the great food they tried. We're going to have pink and white balloons floating. I'm going to give out pink goody bags for all to take home with the wonderful gift items sent to me. I can't wait, this is going to be great!!

I have asked everyone to wear pink. I have pink china I was given this summer and will wash it up and use that. I am serving a pink onoon dip for starters. I found red onion dip in a package many years ago from Hickory FArms. I keep several on hand at all times. I know you can only buy it online. I plan to bake a nice ham. For a salad, I will make my strawberry creme salad. Drinks will be made from Strawberry daquiri mix, strawberry ice creme and seven up. Blend all this with ice and you have a great smootie. You don't even need the booze. Just serve in a fancy glass. I also wanted to make brown breads like date nut and serve with a pink tinted creamcheese. I am going to make strawberry cookies and fill them with pink creamchhese icing. I am also going to have all my pink candles out with a white lace tablecloth. My new pink dishes, and pink napkins. I will use the Better Homes and Gadren Napkins with the appetizers. My center piece will be my mom's picture surrounded by pink flowers in her memory as I lost her to Inflammatory Breast Cancer November 3, 2005. She was stage four before we knew what she had. She passed three mammograms!!! BE careful. I do believe mammography is the best, however, be sure!!!

I've looked through the great cookbook and decided the menu. We're having 16 families over, so I get to try out lots of recipes. Here's my menu: Appetizers (as we wait for everyone to arrive): Cheese and crackers, Grapes, Sweet Herbed Nuts (p. 81), & Candy Corn. Dinner: Ham (p. 397), Herb-Roasted Chicken (p. 475), Mashed Potatoes (p. 587), Dinner Rolls (p.152), Broccoli-Cauliflower Bake (p. 577), Brown Sugar-Glazed Carrots (p. 579), Strawberry, Almond, & Spinach Salad with Orange-Poppy Seed Dressing (p. 512), & Melon and Berries Salad (p. 506). Dessert: Apple Pie (p. 436) & Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. *Guests are bringing more desserts.

We are having a live band to entertain us. We got the local Eagles Club to hold the event for us. We are having a potluck/donation dinner, drink specials (can anyone say Cosmos???) and I am putting together all the "favors" that were sent with the party package. I am tying the packages up with pink ribbon. I am making a few recipes from the new cookbook and we will also be having a recipe exchange, featuring "The Promise" recipes. We can't wait!!!

I think everything will be PINK for the day. I have asked everyone to wear pink or a pink ribbon. I think I will use the idea of pink drinks, pink cupcakes, and a few other things. I am not sure yet. I do know that this party is extremely important in that to many woman are dying from breast cancer. We need to spread the word so that no one has to die from breast cancer in the future.

PINK is PIMP (ike my nephews & son always say) is my theme for this meaningful party. I have asked all guest to wear something pink, bring a photo &/or a special prayer to be said for all the survivors & souls, also to bring a smll dish to add to the festivities so that we may taste their great cooking skills. Im going all pink, food, drinks, desserts, & decorations, as well as the goody bags which I'll be adding information on where they may get a test done & copies of breast self exam cards, also some great treats for all to enjoy. We will be playing some games & talking of the good old days while eating some dessert. I have bought & will buy a few tokens of appreciation to give to all my guest for supporting & raising awareness against breast cancer with me. Thank you so much for allowing me to host this great party.

I have a pink satin table cover and with the cool pink napkins I am going all PINK. I have made magnets in the shape of a pink ribbon, have pink mugs and will get some pink mints or makes some with assorted chocolates to put in mugs and then wrap in clear bags and attach a pink ribbon and rose. I am serving pink punch, pumpkin brownies and having everyone bring a dessert to share with the recipe copied. I also asked everyone to bring a picture of a loved one who has either had or has breast cancer to share and make a memory scrapbook page in there honor. I have three games planned one with pink marshmallows and spoons, another with pink clothes pins and the other a scrapbook page contest... This is so meaningful to me because I have several aunts who have had breast cancer and although 2 have passed I have 7 who have survived. Just want everyone to be aware and make others aware in a fun and freindly way.:)
