Houseparty Update

Houseparty Update

Houseparty enables you to connect with anyone you want, anywhere and anytime you like. We’re humbled to bring people together during this unprecedented time for everyone around the world. As we physically distance ourselves for the common good, online human connections are more important than ever before.

In the last few weeks, Houseparty has become part of daily routines around the world. Our teams are working from home around the clock to support the global Houseparty community while also balancing supporting their own families and local communities. It’s a challenging time, but we are committed to ensuring the best possible experience for our customers, fans, and supporters. Which is why we were so disheartened to hear the false reports of our product compromising third-party accounts.

Houseparty is secure. There have been no data breaches and no exposure of customer data or third-party accounts. Immediately upon hearing these false reports, we assembled an internal team who worked alongside external experts to investigate. We determined these claims were not true.

When you’re using Houseparty to have a face-to-face social connection with the ones you care about, you should not have to worry about the security of your data. We take this seriously and it’s a core part of our values. We aim to be best-in-class in this area.

While we’re on the topic of your data, we want to make a promise to you: Houseparty has not ever sold your data and will not ever sell your data. Ever. We’re going to update our Privacy Policy next week to make it much clearer on this and other topics.

This week, this month, (and potentially) this year it is more important than ever for us to be together, online. Thank you for being part of our face-to-face social network. We’re so glad you’re here.
